Is the Kenwood CP-R3 Metal or Plastic? Does it feel cheap?
ReplyDeleteI have the chance to buy one, but before I do I'd like to know.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting the Personal HiFi Blog.
The Kenwood CP-R3 exterior is made only from plastic. most of the Personal stereo at that time were made out of plastic. However, The CP-R3 internals is made from metal. it has some cheap feel to it but it has top features that compensate for that. also, the sound is excellent and crisp so if you want to enjoy its sound I recommend you to go for it. Regards. TheLion
The CP-505 and CP-707 are similar. The only thing I can see is the 505 has 2 phone jacks, where the 707 has one as a mic.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting The Personal HiFi Site.
DeleteWell, not quite, The CP-505 is a radio/tape player, while the CP-707 is a radio/tape/recorder. Many models use the same master prototype built, and then they just omit certain features, like the tuner or recording, etc. So in the case of the CP-505, they omit the recording; now they end up with a microphone socket, but since they don't have the recording feature anymore, they use the mic socket as an extra headphone socket. Also, I think the CP-707 comes bundled with the AC-100, which has 2 AAA batteries and a charger. The CP-505 does not.
Cheers.
