Anyone have an esp-7 for sale? garatn@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteHi,
DeleteThank you for visiting my blog.
Yes we do have one for sale.
Please contact ThePersonalHiFi@gmail.com.
Regards.
Hello, Awesome collection of cassette players.
ReplyDeleteI have an ES-P7 which I've had since I bought it back in '92, its all working except the internal belt has completely disintegrated. It might be possible to find a replacement belt that will fit, however I'm unsure exactly how the belt configuration should go around the various pulley wheels.
Due to its rarity, I can't seem to find any schematics or service diagrams that could help.
Big ask...
But would you be willing to take a photo of the internal view one of your working ES-P7s and post it here showing the belt configuration? I sure it would be helpful reference for other collectors too, as it mist be a common problem. It was easy to take off the back cover which is just held by screws, however the screws are very tiny, so you'd have to be careful not to drop them.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Kind regards, James

I'd love to read your thoughts on the Sanyo MGR 80.
ReplyDeleteHi,
DeleteThank you for visiting the Hi-Fi site.
The Sanyo MG-R80 is a budget player with 3 Graphic Equalizer. although, it is a bulky player, as always with Sanyo it is a nice player with good quality. if you're looking to buy one it is possible that it'll still work. Thanks.
Hi, any info or your take on the MR-53? I’ve just bought one off Sendico, and I wanted to know what year it was made or if there’s a service manual. The motor runs fine but after trying to play second tape it stopped after a couple seconds. I tried my first tape again and it spins but there’s now no volume. Thoughts?
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteHave you ever tried the Sanyo MGR 80? I'd love to hear your thoughts on the sound.
Thank you.
Have you even used the MGR650D, visually similar to the MGP600D but with and AM/FM radio
ReplyDeleteHi, Thank you for Visiting the Personal Hi-Fi Site. I know this model but have never actually seen one, it's not just the radio but it also has a speaker at the back, it is quite a rare model, they pop up on eBay now and then. Cheers.
DeleteI own an absolutely pristine MGR650D with the original vinyl case. The unit was basically never used or serviced. Works 100%. Since it's a korean made model, I have doubts that it's from the same release line-up as MGP600D. People think they look the same, but that's not really the case. Almost everything is different on the MGR650D lid layout (EQ is on the other side and the position is vertical, the window is smaller to make space for the radio, etc.) and it has a single speaker on the back.
DeleteI am trying to find any information about the exact release year and a Service Manual PDF, but I got nothing so far. Can you help? Thank you in advance.
P.S. It's not for sale, it's one of the rarest players in my collection. Also - THIS IS A FANTASTIC BLOG! 💥
Hi, the MG-R650 is the radio version of the MG-P600 they are identical except for the radio and the speaker on the back. They were manufactured exclusively for the UK market as 650D since 1985 and on til 1989, however, the MG-P600 was an international model. They are quite sturdy players and considered to be a high-quality personal stereo hence it was an OEM for many brands, and it also has a very long life span. Thanks for visiting the personal HiFi site and for your kind words.
DeleteHello. I owned lots of AIWA and would love to try SANYO. Information on SANYO is scarce which makes your post is really helpful. Do you have some high quality/ranking models for recommendation? Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHi, Thank you for your compliment.
DeleteMy posts usually reflect my ranking and the quality of the units. Although I do have the less expensive ones in my collection, I tend to overlook them.
In general, Sanyo Personal stereos are advanced and unique; however, sometimes it comes at the expense of some essential features like high volume or frequency range.
