The design and development of AIWA audio products constantly challenge existing limits in audio technology. In recent years, this has been most clearly illustrated by the AIWA headphone stereo lineup. Taking on the twin challenges of higher sound performance and further miniaturization has achieved the reality of what was formerly thought impossible—year after year, in product after product.
Examples of AIWA firsts in headphone stereo are many Auto-reverse, Stereo Recording, Feather-touch Full Remote Control, Quartz Synthesizer Tuning with Worldwide compatibility, Dynamic Super Loudness (DSL), Centralized Liquid Crystal Displays, and Quick-recharge Lead-acid Batteries to name but a few. The legacy of AIWA firsts continues, and as you study this brochure you’ll find a significant number of unique features not available from other manufacturers.
AIWA’s dedication to continual advancement in the headphone stereo line has resulted in an astonishing diversification in the market. New developments have created new demands, and AIWA meets them with one of the most comprehensive headphone stereo lines in the industry.
Only a decade ago, the thought of creating a High Fidelity auto-reverse stereo recorder with a multi-band quartz synthesizer tuner barely larger than a cassette case would have been dismissed as pure fantasy. Today, it is a reality, along with the reality that the headphone stereo market has become a significant part of today’s audio industry.
Our goal is, and always has been, to provide personal stereo products with a unique difference that assures solid consumer appeal. For example, to increase and enhance the benefit of portability, four of our new synthesizer tuner models have a step frequency switch for reception compatibility in any country on the globe. A headphone stereo that pulls in broadcasts wherever you take it—now that’s portability.
With our complete lineup of impressive products for 1989, we look forward to the second decade of stable growth in this expanding and diversifying market. {AIWA's 1989 Catalog}

Hi,
DeleteThank you for visiting The Personal Hi-Fi Blog.
This blog is for educational purposes and will gladly share most of the info regards the gadgets which on display. However, Since this blog is consuming a lot of time to assemble and take a lot of effort to keep it current and maintained I don't get paid or gain any money through advertisement to do so. hence, I do it on my free time, therefore, a donation will be a very nice gesture to support the only comprehensive blog of that type on the net. you can donate according to your enjoyment from this blog. Thank you.
Fantastic resource for collectors. Many thanks.

Having just dismantled a HS-G500 to do the belt have to say that is one difficult piece of engineering to work on. Completing sets of Aiwa's is looking as difficult as trying to get all 6 WM-DD's but I'm encouraged that the HS-G09, which is simple to work on has only three colours. Having said that I'd be happy to hear from anyone wanting to sell a RED or BLUE HS-G09.
ReplyDeleteHi,
DeleteThank you for visiting The Personal Hi-Fi Blog.
The HS-G08 considered being one of the easiest players to replace the belt on. if you have the SM and skills you can do it in five min. Others like the HS-J7, J9 etc. are more complex to disassemble. The HS-G9 has 7 colors variations and the HS-G09 only 3 (Red, black, and silver).
If you're interested in purchasing a player/s you should email TheLion directly at ThePersonalHiFi@gmail.com. Thanks.
Thank you TheLion! I'm a AIWA fan from China, only with your article can let us saw the precious AIWA posters and catalogs, these are precious memories.
