AIWA HS-P7 / HS-P07 / HS-P02MkII
Stereo Cassette Player
A Giant Step Forward and Backward -
AIWA Presents Ultra-Compact Auto Reverse Stereos!
So compact they’ll actually slip into all but the smallest size pocket, the HS-P7 / P07 / P02MkII from AIWA set a new standard for convenience and performance in personal audio. The HS-P7 is for cassette playback only (the HS-F7 is a real stereo recorder). It weighs less than 255 grams (without batteries), measures just 23.8 mm it delivers tremendous sound performance that just won’t stop because it got auto-reverse. But that’s not all: AIWA has packed it with other top features, like Dolby* noise reduction and Metal tape compatibility. It is a truly ultra-compact model that delivers the world’s best value because it is from AIWA!
AIWA's Miniaturization Expertise Creates The World's Smallest Auto Reverse
Only AIWA’s advanced miniaturization technology could have produced the remarkable HS-P7. Weighing only 255 grams and measuring just 80mm wide, 110mm high, and only 23.8mm thick, it fits easily in nearly any pocket. In fact, the HS-P7 is so handy and compact you’ll never leave home without it. The HS-P7 has that great AIWA fidelity too, thanks to Dolby noise reduction and metal tape capability. And with the convenience of both auto-reverse and music sensor operation, the HS-P7 creates a whole new standard in ultra-thin cassette players. That’s why AIWA is a world leader in cassette audio.
The world’s smallest auto-reverse player
Thanks to auto-reverse convenience, you’ll never have to turn the tape over at the end of each side, because the HS-P7 does it for you—automatically. During play, a single touch reverses the tape direction and plays the other side. Just 23.8mm thick, this player is the result of AlWA’s long and serious dedication to quality miniaturization. With such compact convenience, the HS-P7 is your own personal companion for music enjoyment — no matter which direction you’re going!
Functional Design for Easier Operation
Push-button controls on the top of the unit enable easy mode switching while holding the HS-P7 in the palm of your hand. The same control used to open the cassette compartment also doubles as a STOP button.
AIWA’s Music Sensor is a convenient feature that works by detecting any non-recorded tape segment of four seconds or longer. This makes it useful in automatically locating the spaces between tunes. For example, if you don’t want to hear the tune being played now, just press the Fast Forward control; the Music Sensor will quickly search out the point where the next tune begins and return the unit to the play mode. If you want to listen to the same tune once again, press the Rewind control; the Music Sensor will quickly locate its start and automatically switch to play it back again.
For real portability, a cassette player must be "tough".
That means when you move, the mechanism should be able to absorb external bumps and turns without producing annoying changes in the tape speed, such as “wow”. To keep the operation as smooth as possible, AIWA has constructed its models with a newly designed “anti-rolling” mechanism. Whenever the position of the unit changes during operation, a pair of special flywheels absorbs the motion before it can affect the tape run. So you can take your AIWA dancing, or even jogging—it's ready for the action when you are!
Dolby* noise reduction and more for improved fidelity
• Dolby noise reduction is the most widely-used standard for improving playback fidelity. Now you can enjoy better quality sound because the HS-P7 has Dolby noise reduction to provide low-hiss playback of Dolby-encoded tapes.

Metal and CrO2 tapes, the HS-P7 has a Normal/Metal (CrO2) tape selector which allows the proper playback equalization for all types of tape.
• Finally, AIWA's low-noise coreless DC servo motor and quality drive system contribute to the quiet and stable tape drive for minimal wow and flutter.
