DOLBY B-C NR
Along with Dolby B, the HS-PX20 also features the more effective Dolby C noise reduction system, found on expensive component decks, which dramatically cuts tape hiss for clear, high fidelity playback. 
The system significantly reduces the high-frequency hiss. The HS-PX20, In conjunction with the B type. Dolby C has an overwhelming effect on Dolby B of about two times or more (8 dB noise Ban modified). The improvement was to eliminate the noise even below the feel of the dynamic range. The achievement is that it reproduces clear sound that had been buried in the noise until now.

DSL-EX  

High fidelity playback is also enhanced by DSL-EX, a new sensitive and accurate version of AlWA's famous Dynamic Super Loudness. It's not a tone control or graphic equalizer, DSL-EX is a circuit which varies both bass and treble equalization depending on the input signal level to achieve better frequency response over a wider range. The separate LOW and HIGH sliding controls enable sensitive adjustment of DSL-EX operation to better match headphone response and suit personal listening tastes.

REMOTE CONTROL

The PX20 even has a Remote Control for a full control over all cassette functions like Play/Direction/Stop/Volume controls are on the headphone cord for greater convenience, allowing the HS-PX20 to be kept safely in a bag or pocket. The optional wired remote control unit (RC-R101) enables control of Play/Direction/Stop/FF/Rewind.

Tape playback features include twice bigger and round feather-touch push button controls, better than its predecessor HS-PX10, Also the Anti-rolling mechanism for stable playback, even when the unit is in motion.

Amorphous Deck Head

Unlike the HS-PX10 standard head, the HS-PX20 introduces a newly developed head which promises to surpass almost every previous standard of top performance. Unlike most metals which have a uniform atomic configuration, amorphous alloy is a new non-crystalline material with nonspecific, non-directional atomic configuration. When utilized as head material, it is able to display such ideal characteristics as a high maximum magnetic flux density, outstanding signal linearity (due to lower coercivity), and minimal generation of electromagnetic noise. Add to this a remarkable hardness for extra durability, and you can understand why AIWA engineers were so excited about the potential of this new material!

PX20 HX Amorphous Head

Amorphous HX head, often found only in audiophile cassette decks, for a remarkable improvement in playback fidelity. Amorphous alloy displays exceptionally high maximum magnetic flux density, outstanding signal linearity, and minimal noise generation. Add to this a remarkable hardness for extra durability and you have one of the finest heads available. The HX head design features a peaked surface for greater sound linearity.

DIRECT SERVO DRIVE BRUSH-LESS MOTOR

Module 3" is a one phase full-wave servo motor.  With a Successful smaller spool it has far better servo motor performance and phase full-wave module 3" data. Which further stabilize the tape speed, resulting in a high output torque. Aiwa has improved the ability to rely on quality to achieve high output torque and speed stability.

Direct drive Increased efficiency. The power is not wasted in friction from the belt or gear. It Reduced noise. Being a simpler device, a direct-drive mechanism has fewer parts which could vibrate, and the overall noise emission of the system is lower. It has a longer lifetime. Having fewer moving parts also means having fewer parts prone to failure, and High torque at low rpm - Faster and precise positioning. High torque and low inertia allow faster positioning times on permanent magnet synchronous servo drives.
