About this Blog

Hello everyone,
My name is TheLion. I am an Audiophile and a 'Walkman' collector. I have started this blog for all those who share the same interest. On this blog, I will share my love with the world of Personal Stereos. This is limited only to Personal Stereos and Minidisc Players and maybe some other unique gadgets. The common rule with all those Personal Stereos is their State-of-the-Art; High-Quality Sound, Excellent build and Unique design - in other words, Personal Hi-Fidelity Analog music players for the soulful man. The main interest (but not limited to) in Walkmans is AIWA Personal Stereos from their early years' product line from 1984 to 1991. The main interest in Minidiscs (but not limited to) is Sharp Minidiscs. I will post pictures of rare Walkmans and Minidiscs with information. Thank God for making all this possible, I hope you all will enjoy my blog.
Note: I started this blog in 2011 to offer a unique perspective for educational purposes in the world of personal Stereo. I will gladly share most of the info regarding the gadgets displayed on this blog. However, Since this blog consumes a lot of time and great efforts to assemble and maintain as current as possible, I do not get paid or gain (thru advertisement) any money to do so. Hence, I do it in my free time. Therefore, If you enjoy this one of a kind comprehensive blog Please consider a nice donation according to your enjoyment of this blog. your kind support will surely make this blog alive & Kick for years to come, it will also entitle you to a free technical support ie; questions, inquiries, and requests. please drop me a line and I'll be happy to assist ThePersonalHiFi@Gmail.com. Thank you TheLion, September 2017.

Sharp Oh! JC-N7

Sharp, Oh! JC-N7
TV/FM/AM Tuner Cassette Player with 4-band Equalizer
WOW! I have a graphic equalizer! Oh. It's perfect!
The headphone stereo now comes with a graphic equalizer that lets you create your favorite sound effects according to the song you're listening to and the place you're listening. Computer design and high-density mounting technology for electronic components made it possible to incorporate it into the power set. Quiet places...noisy places...soft songs...hard music...indulge your ears with the perfect sound effects for each.
A wide range of sound sources: TV/FM/AM, all in one unit.
In addition to FM-AM, a TV sound (1~12 CH) tuner is built into the unit. With this one unit, you can conveniently enjoy three sound sources: TV, FM, and AM.
Great sound, endless. Hassle-free auto-reverse.
An auto-reverse type that allows endless playback of sides A and B without having to turn the tape over. No hassle. 2-position reverse mode switch; double-sided playback A-side → B-side → A-side (continuous), A-side B-side → stop prevents battery drain and acts as a sleep timer, and endless playback allows long periods of playback.
Very clear sound. Uses Dolby B NR and tape-type bias.
Just like in any home cassette deck, the Dolby B NR system suppresses tape hiss noise so you can enjoy crystal-clear sound. Playback with Metal/Chrome and Normal bias for accurate sound reproduction.
Now you can dress up your sound the way you like it. A delightful and fashionable design. A new face with a light, thin, and compact design that is stylish.

Sharp Oh! JC-N6

Sharp Oh! JC-N6
TV/FM/AM Tuner Cassette Player with 4-band Equalizer
As the music radius has expanded, there are no longer any rules for how to enjoy it.
The new Sharp JC-N6 is an improved version of the JC-N7, with more efficient power consumption for longer playback time (allowing for approximately 6.5 hours of listening time), a sensitive graphic equalizer, Dolby B, Metal/Chrome tape type, and three fashionable colors.
Two-way auto-reverse. Endless playback of sides A and B without having to turn the tape over. 2-position reverse mode switch: continuous, A-side → B-side → A-side. Double-sided playback A-side B-side → stop prevents battery drain and acts as a sleep timer, and endless playback allows long periods of playback.
Graphic equalizer. Our new graphic equalizer version lets you create your favorite sound effects according to the song you're listening to and the place you're listening. A 4-band graphic equalizer designed with a long-term use of battery life. Computer design and high-density mounting technology for electronic components made it possible to incorporate it into the power set and let it run longer as 6.5 hours of playback. With its sensitive slides, you can suit your ears with the perfect and accurate sound effects for each music style.
TV/FM/AM tuner. A TV sound (1~12 CH) tuner is built into the unit. So now you can enjoy a football game or a live concert in stereo; thanks to our sensitive tuner, you'll never miss your favorite program. You can conveniently enjoy three sound sources: TV, FM, and AM everywhere you go.

A few words on the JC-N6
The JC-N6 and its international equivalent, the JC-780, are quite rare players; they are scarce and hard to find. This is primarily because Sharp produced them in extremely small quantities over a six-month period, taking into account that Sharp produced models for an average of three years. Because the JC-N6 was an upgrade to the popular JC-N7, they were never featured in the same catalogs. As a result, the JC-N6 is only found in three Sharp catalogs, the March, July, and October editions of 1986, and is not listed in any other Sharp catalogs (apart from the JC-780). Because the JC-N6 was an upgrade to the JC-N7 with some enhanced features, it was even cheaper than the JC-N7—35,000 yen versus 29,000 yen, which is less than 6000 yen. At the same time, Sharp introduced Mr. Joy Cassette JC-N10 to replace the entire line. Despite having a longer playback time and excellent sound quality, the JC-N6 is not as appealing as the JC-N7. Collectors, on the other hand, regard it as a valuable gem.
